Our in-house metagenomics & ML cloud pipeline generates taxonomic, genomic, and protein annotations that we embed into our knowledge graph together with geographic, geochemical, and environmental metadata. From our knowledge graph, we then design AI-guided protein and genomics solutions for our customers across the Bioindustry.

About the job

As a fast growing startup, we are looking for an enthusiastic Systems Administrator team member to join. This role will be part-time (exact number of hours/days per week is flexible), based physically in our central London office. 

You will take care of a variety of operational tasks including, cloud security and operational tasks, system administration for on-premise equipment, desktop troubleshooting, maintenance, training, and liaising with vendors and 3rd party consultants.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside leading data scientists, bioinformaticians and ML engineers, solving some of the most complex protein engineering problems being faced by industry. 

As this is a part-time position, the salary will be pro-rata, dependent number of hours/days per week agreed.  

About you

• Relevant experience in the space of IT operations and system administration
• Experience in desktop troubleshooting, maintenance, training
• A passion for streamlining and optimising the way people interact with IT systems
• An interest learning more about biotechnology and what we do
• Proficiency in system administration for MacOS and Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and storage systems
• Willingness to adapt to any different technologies and services as required
• Ability to work in a fast growth startup environment
• Fluency in English

Additional skills (desired but not required):

• Experience with Identity Management and SSO systems
• Experience with MDM and Endpoint management systems
• Experience with a cloud provider 
• Some knowledge of a programming or scripting language (we use Python, Go and Bash)
