Overview:
We are looking for a (Senior) Director level candidate to lead our Gene Editing Technology Development activities. This role will encompass both hands-on lab work, as well as project, team, and partner management. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert across a wide range of gene editing technologies and is able to independently drive projects and work cross functionally to achieve company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross functional team to develop and optimize gene editing tools in a matrix environment
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across a range of gene editing enzymes
Interface with external partners and manage those relationships
Contribute to driving strategy around gene editing
Take the lead on identifying and driving collaborative funding opportunities
Present at both internal and external meetings, including Scientific Conferences
Develop innovative technology and work with IP counsel to protect through patents and tradesecrets
Required Qualifications:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with +10 years of experience in the Gene Editing/Gene Therapy industry
Deep knowledge of gene editing enzymes and their structure:function relationship
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and thrive in a matrix environment
Have a ‘roll up your sleeves’ mentality and able to work both in and out of the lab when necessary
Able to design DNA/RNA constructs in a high-throughput manner
Prior experience with gene editing tool development and associated delivery systems is required
Excellent organizational and priority management skills
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
Greater Boston area resident, willing to work 5 days in office
