We're looking for an exceptional Director of Finance to join the Basecamp Research team.
With a unique ability to rapidly develop novel proteins towards solving some of the broadest and largest planetary and human challenges, Basecamp Research is operating an exciting and scalable platform business model in the biotechnology sector. Currently we partner across two market areas and are beginning to expand further. As we continue to accelerate commercial traction we are looking for an exceptional Director of Finance to join our team. Having raised our $20M Series A in November last year, this is a particularly exciting time to be joining our team. As part of this role you will spearhead our financial modelling, financial forecasting, reporting, account management, and of course take a critical role in strategic planning across all our teams (biodiversity, field research, product, data science, and commercial).
A self-starter able to solve problems from first principles, thriving in a culture of autonomy.
First-hand experience in financial modelling, planning, and forecasting.
Experience in the biotechnology sector, ideally at a Series A/B company (although not critical).
Great communication skills across a very wide variety of domains. This is necessary to effectively communicate and plan alongside all our teams which span a very wide array of expertise.
Able to work in-person in London (UK)
Basecamp Research is a London-based biotechnology company. We explore the most exciting, diverse, and extreme environments on our planet and sample these environments for microbial sequencing (metagenomics). We negotiate benefit-sharing agreements with the localities we go to, ensuring that our data is collected ethically and sustainably. Our in-house metagenomics & ML cloud pipeline generates taxonomic, genomic, and protein annotations that we embed into our knowledge graph together with geographic, geochemical, and environmental metadata. From our knowledge graph, we then design AI-guided protein and genomics solutions for our customers across the bioeconomy.
