Basecamp Research is a London-based biotechnology company. We explore the most exciting, diverse, and extreme environments on our planet and sample these environments for microbial sequencing (metagenomics). We negotiate benefit-sharing agreements with the localities we go to, ensuring that our data is collected ethically and sustainably. Our in-house metagenomics & ML cloud pipeline generates taxonomic, genomic, and protein annotations that we embed into our knowledge graph together with geographic, geochemical, and environmental metadata. From our knowledge graph, we then design AI-guided protein and genomics solutions for our customers across the Bioindustry.
We pride ourselves on being an exciting, fun and flexible place to work. If you feel passionate about the power of biology to build a better world, we’d love to hear from you.
The Computational Protein Engineer will work closely with the Data Science and Commercial teams to generate product panels of optimally designed protein sequences derived from our knowledge graph. Key responsibilities will include the expansion of our computational approaches for protein engineering & performance prediction, as well as the oversight of customer delivery. Furthermore, the successful candidate will interact with experimental groups to discuss experimental designs & outcomes.
A degree in the Life Sciences
Do you want to join our team as our new Computational Protein Engineer? Then we'd love to hear about you!
At Basecamp Research, we are committed to fostering an inclusive culture where our colleagues are supported to reach their full potential in an environment diverse in thought, background, and experience.
